How to configure a custom domain to Agnicart powered eCommerce website

You can point your custom domain to your Agnicart powered ecommerce website by following the below configuration steps.

Once you register with Agnicart, you will be provided an account with subdomain where you can setup your store.

1. Get Domain Unique Identifier
   • Login to the admin dashboard
   • Click on Settings -> Custom Domain
   • Click on Add Domain
   • Keep a note of your unique subdomain that is shown on the Add Domain popup. This is used in the below steps to configure on the domain registrar side.

2. Configure Domain Registrar on name.com
   • The below steps are listed to configure a custom domain for domains registered on name.com but the steps remain more or less same on any registrar.
     • Login to your name.com, GoDaddy, or any registrar account.
     • Click on the domain you wish you configure and go to Manage DNS Records for that domain.
     • Add below two entries.Type = CNAME, Host =<Leave it as blank>, Answer = <Unique domain identifier from above step>
     • Type = CNAME, HOST= www, Answer = <Unique domain identifier from above step>
     • Once you add those two records, it will take ~5-10 mins for the domain to point your Agnicart powered store.
     • If the domain is configured correctly you should see the below screen upon entering your domain URL in the browser.

       • Step 4 should be performed after you see this screen. You can skip step 3.
3. Configure Domain on GoDaddy
   • The below steps are listed to configure a custom domain for domains registered on GoDaddy but the steps remain more or less same on any registrar.
     • Login to GoDaddy and go to Domains page.
     • Click on Manage DNS for the domain you wish to configure.
     • Under the records section, edit or create a new record of type “CNAME” with the below information.
       • Type=<<CNAME>>, Name =www, value =<Unique domain identifier from above step 1>
     • Save
     • In the Forwarding section below, click on ADD and enter the following information and save.
       • Forward to -> https:// , domain-> www.yourwebsite.com(or .co.in or anyname you bought) , Forward Type-> Permanent , Settings-> Forward Only.
     • Click Save
     • If the domain is configured correctly you should see the below screen upon entering your domain URL in the browser.

       • The next step should be performed after you see this screen.
4. Configure Agnicart admin
   1. This step needs to be done only after performing configuration updates to the domain DNS entries as specified in the above step. If your domain is in GoDaddy, you need to wait for 90 mins after step 3 is completed before making this change.
   2. Login to the admin dashboard
   3. Click on Settings -> Custom Domain
   4. Click on Add Domain
   5. Enter your domain and save
   6. For example, if your domain name is example.com. You will need to add example.com in the Domain name field. Also, add Another entry www.example.com as another entry so your site comes up when the user enters example.com or www.example.com on the browser.
   7. Make sure one of the domain is marked as primary. All other domains entered will simply redirect to the primary domain.
